Top 5 rainy day activities!

by

Everything we do is based around fun, kid’s activities so we want to help you with some fun activities to do back at home to keep that holiday feeling alive!

1)      Relive your holiday feeling – get out your summer snaps, a photo album, some plain pieces of paper and crinkly scissors. Get the kids to write down their holiday memories and put them amongst the photos to create a really unique and memorable photo album to look back on.

2)      Haven Monopoly Board Game? – get the kids to think of their own board games and then let them showcase these to each other and you. Why don’t you get them to draw little pictures of themselves on card, colour them in, and remember to make them a flat base so they can stand up – your very own counters!

3)      Get creative – Why not get inventive. Get the kids out (briefly) into the garden to collect colourful leaves and twigs – but no worms thank you. Get the kids to stick these to a plain piece of paper and put that on the radiator to dry. On another piece of paper, get them to draw their favourite outdoor animal – a squirrel, bird or badger maybe? When they are finished and coloured in, cut out their pictures carefully and stick them onto the garden-themed piece – your very own 3D garden scene!

4)      Pitching up for the afternoon – Get […]

Secure your pitch in 2013!

by

For those of you who like the freedom and back to nature feeling of camping, Haven has taken on board the growth in touring holidaymakers and continues to invest in their touring facilities and pitches  for the new season! Kiln Park has received a refurbished touring block and Perran Sands has new, fully equipped euro pitches, meaning it now has 363 pitches for all types of touring needs – from basic to extra large electric pitches. All touring parks have also been assessed by AA and, with our parks averaging at an impressive 80%, Perran Sands shows the largest increase since the previous year and was praised for its ‘tremendous amount of work carried out here, all eco-friendly and exceptionally tasteful’.

Hooked on Haven

by

Haven reported a 12% increase in the number of repeat new customers who have already booked to come back again in 2013. Haven says “we have a high proportion of repeat customers every year but what has surprised even us is the increase in the number of customers who experienced Haven for the very first time last year.”

A new year, a new season, a new menu!

by

Even when the parks are closed, there’s lots of exciting things happening to get ready for the new season. There will be upgraded facilities, new activities, new entertainment, new restaurants and yet another tasty new menu in the Mash and Barrel! How do I know it’s tasty? Well, some of the Haven team packed a bag and headed off to one of the parks in Sussex to test them out first and, being a bit of a foodie, I volunteered my services – well we have to make sure it’s good enough for you guys!

Our critics arrived, donning clipboards and rumbling stomachs, ready to get stuck in. Mick Newton, our Haven foodie, gave a little foresight into where our produce has come from and how careful they are when choosing the quality of products used, what’s trending and what our guests have told us are their favourites!

With tables lined with new or amended dishes, our critics had to mark them on their presentation, value for money and (best of all) taste! Many boxes were ticked, nods of approval given and the word ‘delicious’ used often.

Personally, my favourites included the breaded shrimps, the original favourite of macaroni cheese served imaginatively with croutons and bacon, the 28 day matured beef from the new gourmet menu and the apple crumble – which is a family recipe that one of our chefs has shared with us!

Overall, our team of guinea pigs approved of the […]
