Keeping up British traditions!

by

There are many special things to look forward to about a seaside break. Highlights always include ice creams, jumping waves on the beach, getting out the new kite or exploring a new town! It’s proven that a holiday makes your blood pressure, stress level and sleep patterns better and if you can’t be on holiday, let’s talk about being on one!

One of our top British holiday treats is a traditional Fish & Chips and we asked our Facebook followers how you take yours! We don’t mind if you eat it as you walk, down on the beach, from inside a snug restaurant or from your holiday home enjoying the ocean view from behind the window panes. What we did want to know was what you have alongside your chips.

We had some weird and wonderful answers, from mushy peas, to chilli sauce, to ice cream – it seems we have an audience of varied taste! Our outright winner though was good old Salt and Vinegar! Would you agree? Personally, I think gravy…

Only 22 sleeps until Haven open their doors for the new season – we hope you’re all buying suncream and regional travel books in preparation!

Haven from your point of view!

by

Christine got married whilst on holiday at Primrose Valley in 2003. The couple and their three children, from County Durham, take breaks with Haven every year and here she tells us a little about their memories from Haven holidays and why they continue to visit! We chose to get married near Haven so it would still feel like we were having a honeymoon but also making sure that our daughter Chelsea would be involved and enjoy the day. Another reason for choosing Haven was due to the fantastic time Chelsea and I had on our first Haven holiday the previous year. The hubby couldn’t get the time off work so we travelled by bus, to somewhere new, with a 2 year old in a buggy, laden with bags for the journey and pulling a case along. I made friends just in the short space of time waiting for keys! One of the families in front, that Chelsea had been giving her 2 year old rabble to, had held back and helped with my case up to my chalet. A lot of my good Haven impressions were made over those few days. I couldn’t believe how friendly everyone was, especially the kindness of random strangers who became good friends.
