Last week was the official opening of the Surf Bay restaurant and bar at Perran Sands Holiday Park in Cornwall. Visitors flocked to see what all of the fuss was about and Malcolm Bell, head of Cornish Tourism, came down to cut the ribbon. The parks seaside location and the fact it’s a popular hotspot for surfers meant choosing a name and a theme for the new restaurant was a no brainer! We arrived the night before and it’s clear to see why families love this park, it’s a real seaside paradise. As you enter the park, you can see the sand dunes all around you as you meander along the road towards reception! We found our caravan easily and like so many others on the park we had views of the sand dunes all around us. It had three central heated bedrooms, one each and mine had an ensuite loo too! Having a look what entertainment was on offer, we set off for the Live Lounge and enjoyed the new Seaside Squad Beach Party show followed by the new Go Live game show. The new certificates are a hit with the kids too – you get to star in your own certificate!
Planning your stay to Haven this season? Well, we are brimming with new shows and here is a preview for you!
Z-Stomp is our brand new dance party that has been created exclusively for Haven and Owners Exclusive.
Crazes like Zumba and Bokwa have taken the UK by storm so we thought we’d take them, put our own spin on them and then put them out on our parks for the guests to enjoy.
Our in house creative team have produced a fun filled 26 minute dance workout for all of the family, so come along and learn some new moves to take home with you!
The concept of the show is a Latin based dance for all ages and abilities. It has been created to inspire people to get active and have fun. Hopefully, it will attract those who regularly attend fitness or dance classes as well as beginners who have always wanted to try one.
Being on holiday is the perfect time to try new things and with this fun, inclusive activity, we’ll make sure every participant leaves feeling good and filled with confidence!
This will be on all parks for the whole summer so fill up your water bottle and get ready to shake your shimmy!!!
and here is a case study of one of the great causes which we are helping. CHICKS – visit www.chicks.org.uk for more info. Some children simply don’t get the opportunity to go on holiday for a variety of reasons, from the expense of a break to a family’s situation or commitments. Schools, social workers and youth clubs can refer children in these situations to CHICKS, a charity which provides week-long respite breaks at one of two scenic locations — on either Dartmoor in Devon or by the sea near Par in Cornwall. These fun and active weeks may involve any activity, from picnics to horse-riding, football and swimming to trampolining and beach volleyball. They are an opportunity for children and young people to make friends away from their home environment, to experience their first taste of independence, to pack and travel on their own – often for the first time in their lives – and to stay away from home.
On park, we like to keep the entertainment schedule fresh and, for this year, there is a new addition in the form of ‘Rory’s Punch and Judy’!
The family afternoon show, which is a twist on the seaside favourite ‘Punch and Judy’, has an updated script, Rory as host and puppeteer and appearances from Mr Punch, Judy, Baby and other special guests.
Written and produced by our in house entertainment department, the show promises to be a treat for guests and will be showing on nearly all of the parks – all through the season.
This show isn’t for the faint hearted as it offers loads of audience interaction so be prepared to get involved in the fun!
Below is a sneak preview picture of what guests have to look forward to from this show!
