Remember, remember, the fifth of November…there’s going to be lots going on as usual and we’ve picked some of the best to whet your appetite to Bonfire Night (or the days surrounding it):
Lord Mayor’s Show
While not linked with the Guy Fawkes tale other events are and held on November 14 (rather than 5), the Lord Mayor’s Show has been running for over 800 years and ends with a magnificent firework display in the capital city, London.
Tutbury Castle Vikings and Fireworks Spectacular
There’s not just one, or two, but three nights of incredible firework displays at Tutbury Castle in Staffordshire. As well as this you and the whole family will be able to enjoy their traditional recreation of a Viking battle.
Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular
Held across two days on November 7 and 8 the Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular will have live music from Adam Chandler, a variety of stalls and the chance to take a ride on carousel and swing boats. The amazing Leeds Castle will be backdrop to the impressive fireworks display with images projected onto its walls.
Ottery St Mary
With 35-foot bonfire, a funfair and the exhilarating firework display there’s so much to see and do at the Ottery Tar Barrel event at Ottery St Mary, and that’s not even it (as the name suggests!) Townsmen lug tar barrels on their backs and set them alight in local pubs and hotels before carrying them up to the square at midnight in a peculiar, but interesting tradition.
