There’s plenty going on in Sussex for the rest of the year and it all kicks off this weekend with the annual Hastings Pirate Day!
Hastings Pirate Day
When? Sunday 16th July
Did you know? Hastings Pirate Day holds the record for the most pirates in one place! And this year thousands of people will again take to the streets and beach in the town dressed as pirates.
Our delightful park Combe Haven will be getting in on the festivities by hosting their own fancy dress competition on Saturday and Sunday evening in the Live Lounge so make sure you’re heading down and don’t miss out on all the fun!
Airboune: Eastbourne International Airshow
When? Thursday 17th – Sunday 20th August
This award winning air show features the world famous Red Arrows! They represent the speed, agility and precision of the RAF with some incredible acrobatic displays.
Plus, you could also spot an RAF Typhoon and watch a Battle of Britain memorial flight.
Hastings Old Town Carnival Week
When? 29th July – 6th August
Now in its 49th year Hastings Old Town Carnival Week is full of exciting events from Open Houses, Walking Tours, Treasure Trails, Art Shows and Historical Talks to Pram Racing, Live Music and Street Parties. And it’s all building up to the main moment, the Grand Carnival Procession!
Bexhill Carnival Week
When? 23rd July-29th July
Community hymn singing, a walking football tournament and a commando fitness challenge? Yes, Bexhill Carnival Week is like no other. There’s so many quirky and varied things to try out and get involved with!
It will all come to a grand finale on Carnival Procession Day when this year’s theme is definitely one for the kids (and adults too!) – it’s a tribute to Disney.
Bexhill Roaring 20s
When? 22nd July
This exciting event aims to keep with the unique style and sophistication of the 1920s and boy does it do it in style! They have stunt fights, dance acts, music, vintage cars, plane displays and exhibition stalls so there’s plenty to do.
You can also be part of a world record attempt. In 2015, they broke the world record for the number of people doing the Charleston dance, but it was beaten by a London attempt later that year. They’re back to try and win it again!

Fine food, delicious drinks and marvellous music, Hastings Seafood and Wine Festival really has got everything you could need for a lovely day out!
