8 reasons to choose Quay West this year!

If you haven’t decided where to go on holiday yet, you may want to check out our Quay West park in New Quay, West Wales. As well as a large, sandy beach with the chance to spot bottlenose dolphins that live in Cardigan Bay, they have lots of events going on throughout the year, so we decided to choose eight of our top picks throughout the year! Here are just a few to whet your appetite:

1. Aberystwyth Agricultural Show

28th March
The Aberystwyth and Ceredigion County Show is an impressive annual agricultural show. This local show attracts many visitors from the surrounding areas, uniting the farming industry and local community. A wide range of events take place from produce and poultry shows through to equestrian. It provides excellent opportunities for local farmers, plant growers and exhibitors, and, is a fun day out that can be enjoyed by the whole family! Educational and fun, what more could you ask for? 2.Aberaeron Seafood Festival

13th July
The harbour is lined with seafood producers who are keen to show off their skills and produce. As well as seafood, the offer wine, spirits, soft fruits and meat products. There are a number of ‘well known’ chefs from around Wales who cook in outdoor kitchens along the harbour wall. A truly exciting day which finishes with a jazz band on the harbour. 3.Aberystwyth Music Festival

26th July – 2nd August
Musicfest Aberystwyth is a charity that raises money for bursaries from various trusts. A week so packed full of the acts, the only problem will be that there isn’t enough hours in a day!

4.Cardigan Agricultural Show

30th July
Agricultural show held at Briscwm Field, Pembrokeshire. Lots to do for the whole family with trade stands, working demonstrations, horticulture, cookery and craft, dog shows, Vintage displays, BSJ show jumping,private driving, and lot of aniamls for the kids (and big kids!) cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, Horses. 5.New Quay Music Festival

1st – 3rd August
A two day music festival which is run by volunteers on a non profit making basis but any surplus that is raised is used for a good, local cause. So this means you can have a fun-filled day off, all while knowing you are supporting a good cause! Click here to find out more.

6.Cardigan River & Food Festival

16th August
Cardigan’s River and Food Festival has grown to attract thousands of people to the town every year. Now in its 16th year, the objective is the same, to celebrate the quality and diversity of the superb local, independent food producers that Wales have to offer.The festival is great fun for all the family with cooking demonstrations and a full programme of river events, entertainment and activities for the children. There will be plenty to eat, drink, see, so come and enjoy everything that is on offer.

7.New Quay Regatta Boat Race

17th – 19th August (Main Day 18th)
This three day annual event combines sailing races with shore based swimming races and fun events. It is suitable for all the family with sandcastle building competitions on the main day. Join in the fun!

8.Llandysul Agricultural Show

6th September
Just because the summer will be coming to an end – it doesn’t mean the fun should! At the Llandysul Agricultural Show, there will be classes for numerous breeds of cattle and sheep and a horticultural section including produce, preserves and handicrafts. Also a novelty dog section, vintage vehicle classes and trade stands.
