Our interviewer extraordinaire, Kathryn Arbuckle, over at Lakeland has interviewed Carol Sharp, an owner on the park. Carol Sharp is doing a charity walk in July for breast cancer as she suffered herself not that long ago!
Where are you from Carol?
I am originally from Blackpool but now I have moved to Thornton Cleveleys. Not too far away from Blackpool or here actually.
How long have you had a holiday home at Lakeland?
This is my third year here. I absolutely love it.
How often do you stay on park?
All the time! I am here as much I possibly can be. I just adore the place.
What’s the best thing about it?
The walks, the lake, Otter Lodge and especially the staff!
When you go for walks, where do you go?
I like to walk on park, round the nature trail, round the lake and the golf course. I thoroughly enjoy walking to Humphrey Head, How Barrow and Levens Estuary. I don’t drive therefore I walk everywhere, even to the shops in the local area such as Flookburgh, Cark, Cartmel and Grange Over Sands. It relaxes me and makes me feel happy and trouble-free.
Tell us about your sponsored walk
Having experienced breast cancer last year, I wanted to give something back. It was discovered last January and I had a mastectomy but was fortunate not to need chemotherapy. After such an experience I have realised that I wanted to enjoy life to the full and that’s why I spend as much time as possible at my holiday home.
