With no Olympics or major sporting tournament this year, holidaymakers in the UK can still treat themselves to a summer of sport whilst staying at any of Haven’s 36 coastal holiday parks.
From fencing to swimming and kayaking to archery, there is a huge choice of sporting activities on offer for children and families of all ages. Whether they are looking to learn a new skill or have quality family time both are easily done whilst enjoying everything the Great British coast has to offer.
“We are very proud to provide a wide array of fantastic sporting activities across all our holiday parks,” says Andy Bell, Haven Activities & Leisure Team. “Last year we helped over 185,000 kids learn new skills in our expert led archery, fencing, kayaking, football and swimming sessions. With a summer of sports on the horizon we can’t wait to welcome more families to Haven and teach them new sporting skills.”
In 2015 over 100,000 children learnt the skills behind archery and fencing whilst on holiday at Haven. Looking forward to this summer, children aged six and over can learn how to hit the target in archery coaching sessions with the help of Haven’s expert instructors at all of Haven’s 36 holiday parks. Their friendly instructors also offer fencing coaching so children six and over can learn some epic sabre skills and show off their best cross swords.
Holidaymakers can also take to the water with an array of water activities available for the whole family. Last year over 20,000 kids learnt to kayak in Haven’s swimming pools, these sessions are run by expert instructors with full safety equipment being provided in a fun, familiar and safe environment.
If families are looking to give their little ones their water wings then Haven’s Learn2Swim activity is perfect with Haven’s swimming coaches being STA approved (Swimming Teachers Association) and lifeguards all have NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualifications) which makes learning to swim a breeze.
