Best Christmas markets to visit in 2017

There’s nothing quite like wrapping up in a toasty bobble hat and scarf and having a wonder around one of the UK’s many Christmas markets. We’ve decided to help you out by showing you our favourites!

Rochester Castle

Set in the picturesque gardens of the gorgeous Rochester Castle, Kent, this Christmas Market offers live entertainment on the bandstand, a traditional funfair, Bavarian food village including German Bratwurst sausages, Hog Roast and churros AND guaranteed snow (thanks to a snow machine).

Thanks to Birmingham’s long partnership with Frankfurt, the city hosts an annual German Christmas market which you won’t want to miss. You can try out food and drink from another culture without even leaving the country. There will also be a ferris wheel and an ice rink nearby!

Cardiff

With more than 200 exhibitors and 85 wooden stalls there’s hours of shopping and fun to be had at the Cardiff Christmas Market. As it sits right in the middle of the city centre it’s easy access for anybody travelling from a distance.

Probably the most famous of them all, this isn’t just a Christmas Market, Hyde Park is turned into a festive wonderland…quite literally. It hosts the annual Winter Wonderland which sees thousands of visitors attend each year, becoming more and more popular. Along with the market, there’s rides, an ice sculpture kingdom and even more entertainment on offer.

Liverpool

Step outside Liverpool Lime Street train station and the annual Christmas Market could not be any closer. Set beneath the beautiful St George’s Hall there’s plenty of festive cabins to look around and you could even pick up some handmade presents or decorations.
