Blue Flag and Seaside Awards 2019

The results are in… The Blue Flag and Seaside awards – which present awards to the best well-kept beaches in the country – have been announced and we can’t wait to show off our beautiful Blue Flag beaches near six of our parks!

    Sandy Bay

Our Sandy Bay is a beautiful beach located on our Devon Cliffs park. It’s at the heart of Devon and runs for half a mile with golden sands, red sandstone cliffs and sensational views ideal for families. The Red Stone cliffs at Sandy Bay are among the oldest along the Jurassic Coast by approximately 240 million years old, perfect for a history lesson with the kids.

Make the most of the spectacular views after a lovely stroll along the picturesque beach by treating yourself to a cream-tea at our South Beach Café.

    Weymouth Beach

Weymouth beach is a curving stretch of golden sand nestled between the nearing town and Weymouth Pier. There is plenty to do at this traditional seaside beach and the safe and shallow waters make it the ideal place for a swim, snorkel, kayak or canoe trip.

Also on offer is crazy golf and Punch and Judy shows, so you wont be lost for things to do! Weymouth beach is nearby to our parks Weymouth BaySeaview and Littlesea, so make sure you check it out when you visit!

    Mablethorpe Town Beach

Want to visit a traditional British beach? Then you’re in luck, because just around the corner from our Golden Sands park is a stunning beach which offers donkey rides, fish and chips and  gorgeous golden sand.

There’s plenty of space to play bat and ball or get out your bucket and spade and build a sandcastle, or you can take a dip in the sea.

    Blackpool South Beach

Blackpool South beach has plenty to offer, with plenty of action and traditional seaside activities. The town itself has three great piers, and at the end of the “Golden Mile” is the well-known South Pier, with amusements, rides, trampolines, dodgems… We could go on!

The traditional seaside resort is only a shore drive away from both our Blackpool parks, Marton Mere and Cala Gran, so be sure to take a trip to see the piers, rides and Blackpool Tower when you visit us!

A peaceful and non-commercialised environment can be experienced at Sutton on Sea, just 3 miles from our Golden Sands Holiday park.

The selection of colourful beach huts along the promenade and rows of benches overlooking the sea offers a relaxing hotspot. On the other hand, if you feel like getting active then you can find cycle routes along the beach (to help you work off those fish and chips you had the night before).

    Porthminster Beach

Porthminster Beach – which is 6 miles from our Riviere Sands park – boasts crescents of golden sand and glittering bays. Take a short walk from the bay and you can spend the rest of your day visiting St Ives, or get lost in the tropical illusion of Porthminster Beach when you are blessed with good weather. You can admire the view whilst staring into the distance from St Ives Bay as far as Godrevy Lighthouse.
