Tomorrow is the start of Children’s Book Week and it’s a big birthday for them! CBW will be celebrating their 95th anniversary from May 12th -18th – why not join in the fun!
CBW is the longest running literacy initiative in the UK, wanting to connect the younger readers to the wonder of books.

Children’s Book Week began as they believed children’s books and literacy are life-changers. We couldn’t agree more. Who else can remember your favourite books from your child-hood but can’t remember what you did last Wednesday?
I still have my well-thumbed fairy-tale book that I got for my 5th birthday, tucked away on shelf somewhere. I remember getting excited when I saw my teacher reaching for ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’, it didn’t even matter it would be the sixth time this week. I just loved it.
Naomi can still remember here favourite book ‘Milly, Molly, Mandy’. This is the same book she regularly read to Madi as a bed-time story. And Madi… well she also remembers the maps in ‘Milly, Molly, Mandy’!
It’s these sort of memories that reading can unleash, so here at Haven we fully support getting children in to books, so much so it inspired us to help create a wonderful surprise for all of Haven Fans! We can’t say what it is just yet but keep your eyes peeled!
As for now, sit, back relax and lose yourself in a good book.
