Craig Tara Is The AA Holiday Centre Of The Year 2016

Craig Tara Holiday Park in Ayr, Scotland has been named the 2016 winner of the prestigious AA Holiday Centre of the Year award. The AA Caravan and Camping guide features 900 fully inspected sites throughout the UK, which makes the award a huge achievement.

The Scottish park has been chosen to receive the 2016 title after its customer care, site facilities and pitches were put to the test. In 2015 the park opened its beautiful newly refurbished swimming which now includes giant flumes, multi-lane slides, water jets, lazy river, waterfalls and lots of toddler zones! But of course, it’s not all about the swimming, the great outdoors is just as important so the judges were bound to be impressed by the sea-facing 9-hole golf course and adventure trail it has to offer.

Craig Tara Holiday Park is a lovely holiday centre on the outskirts of Ayr that has been carefully developed over the years to maximise the views across the bay towards Ayr, Troon and the Isle of Arran. It would be fair to say it is actually a small self-contained village, geared towards providing a great family-orientated holiday whilst also catering for those who just wish to sit and relax in a safe and pleasant environment.”

“A large park, it is a testament to the commitment of all the staff that every visitor feels welcomed, and the wide-ranging facilities are truly excellent. The centre has various large complexes with show bars, restaurants, takeaways and entertainment centres to suit all ages. In 2015 the pool complex was completely refurbished and now boasts flumes, slides, splash zones and pools for different levels of swimming competence – it must be one of the best of its kind in Scotland, if not the UK. There are good shops on site, a large soft play area and a members’ club for sole use of holiday-home owners with a pool, gym, club and restaurant. The park has steadily improved over the years and to sum up, it provides exemplary service combined with excellent modern facilities in an outstanding location. It deserves to receive the AA Holiday Centre of the Year award.”

It’s not just places on the holiday park itself that are must visits, there’s plenty to do in the area including checking out the incredible 18th century cliff-top Culzean Castle and Country Park, as well as Ayr Racecourse. The AA Campsite of the Year awards claims to reward ‘exceptionally high standards, service and presentation’ and that’s exactly why the brilliant Craig Tara has become the latest winner!
