With Easter fast approaching we hope you are as eggscited as we are! Easter day is the perfect day to indulge and give yourself that little treat! Why not get all the family involved and bake these tasty Chocolate Nest Cakes together.The recipe is quick and simple to make so perfect for getting the kids involved! Today with the help of little Lola, we are going to take you step by step through how to make your own eggscelent Easter nest cakes. Simple but oh so good. The recipe we will use can be found on the BBC’s food channel – enjoy!
What you will need:
225g/8oz plain chocolate, broken into pieces
2 tbsp golden syrup
50g/2oz butter
75g/3oz cornflakes
36 mini chocolate eggs
How to make the perfect Chocolate Nest Cakes:
Step one : First place 12 paper bun cases in a Fairy cake tin
Step two: Break up the chocolate and place into bowl. Place the bowl over a pan of boiling water
Remember please get an adult to help you at this bit!
Step Three : Let the water gently simmer to melt the chocolate. Stir the chocolate gently until smooth. You do not want your bowl to touch the water.

Step four: Add the Butter and Golden Syrup to the mixture. Again mix until Smooth.
Step five : Get an adult to carefully remove the bowl from the hot water. And here’s for the fun part, add the cornflakes to the mixture and mix away! Make sure you cover all the cornflakes in chocolate!
Step Six: Spread the mixture evenly into the cases
Step Seven: Now to decorate! Place mini-egg’s on top of each nest cake to finish off your master piece.
Step Eight: Place your finished nest cakes into the Fridge for up to an hour to allow the Nests to set. Now for the part we’ve all been waiting for – test out the tastiness of your Nest cakes and show them off to your friends and family!
