It’s not often that you hear Bondi beach and Filey beach in the same conversation – they’re around 9,000 miles apart, but both were recently voted in the best Travelers’ Choice Beaches for kids on TripAdvisor.
The beautiful beach at Filey is close to three of our Yorkshire parks – Blue Dolphin, Primrose Valley and Reighton Sands and was one of six around the world praised for being family friendly and great for kids. Filey was the only beach to be nominated from the UK, in a list which included Elafonisi beach in Crete and Siesta beach in Florida. TripAdvisor also ranked Filey beach as being one of the best in the UK.
And we agree! With a five mile stretch of golden sand, sweeping clifftops and plenty of rockpools to discover we think Filey beach is a great place to explore while on a Haven holiday. Who knows? You might even spot a sleepy seal on the beach or maybe a porpoise. Filey is also a dog friendly beach open all year round, so you can bring your furry friends as well as your little ones.
There’s plenty to see too. Why not visit the sculpture trail which runs along the promenade with a series of artwork all based on the picturesque town of Filey. Or, if you fancy something a bit more active there’s also sailing lessons and pony rides on offer.
We love beaches here at Haven and all that the Great British coast has to offer. Many of our parks are just a stones-throw away from a beach, so you can be smelling the salty sea air and dipping your toes into the sea in no time at all!
