The best thing about Devon? Well it’s pretty hard to pin-point but we’ll give it a go! With a blue-flag beach right on our doorstop, an aerial adventure waiting to be had and a beautiful South Beach Cafe over looking the Jurassic coast, you may find that you’ll never actually leave the park! But if you do manage to venture out we have picked out our top things to do!
Jurassic Coast Cruises
It may not be a Mediterranean cruise but it’s the next best thing! You’ve heard of Walking with Dinosaurs – now there’s Sailing with Dinosaurs! See the full 95 miles of ‘The Jurassic Coast’, all the way from Orcombe Point in Exmouth to Studland Bay in Dorest, you can see 185 million years of history all while sipping on cool drink on the cruise.
The Donkey Sanctuary
Name one person who doesn’t like Donkey’s? You just can’t! Made popular by Eeyore in Winnie-the-Pooh this is one of the cutest day’s out you will ever have – plus it’s free! As well as meeting their families of Donkeys, when visiting The Donkey Sanctuary you can also enjoy the maze, nature centre and walks around the beautiful coastal setting.
The River Exe Cafe
The call themselves ‘Devon’s most unique dining venue’ and The River Exe Cafe most certainly is! Starting off with just two flat bed barges and shed, the floating barge has created a relaxing way to enjoy the Devon Coast. As you can imagine The River Exe Cafe is very popular so we would recommend booking in advance to save disappointment – – bon appetit!
Beer Quarry Caves
A lot of hard work has gone into these caves with each stone being individually carried by hand from Beer Quarry. With history surrounded them from the Roman times, this hour-long tour is a fascinating trip in to history!
As always we’d love to know your top day’s out! Let us know in the comments below!
