We know how much you love our Welsh parks so our focus this week is on the beautiful Presthaven Sands. This park is located beside marvellous miles of dune-back sand flats in North Wales. We have found some fantastic activities that cater to all members of the family and will give you a real flavour of Wales. Obviously, alongside the flavour of Welsh Rarebit!
Snowdonia National Park
This is must visit hotspot when staying at Presthaven Sands! As the largest National Park in Wales it is proud to boast the highest mountain in both England and Wales. Not only this but you can visit the largest natural lake in Wales. Around an hour’s drive from your caravan this promises to be a fantastic outdoor experience for the whole family, so get those walking shoes on!
Tree Top adventure
This high flying adventure activity centre has recently received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. Located less than an hour from the Presthaven Sands Park we thoroughly agree with the award and highly recommend a visit. For all you adrenaline junkies, in March 2012 they installed ‘The Skyride’ which is Europe’s highest and first 5 seater Giant Swing! This day out is definitely an experience that you will treasure and remember forever.
Welsh Mountain Zoo
High above Colwyn Bay sits the wonderful Welsh Mountain Zoo! You can spend a whole day learning and seeing many rare and endangered species such as Snow Leopards, Sumatran Tigers and Red Pandas. There is something for all the family from the Children’s Farm to beautiful gardens with breathtaking views over the bay!
Only 15minutes from your front door you will find this fishtastic aquarium! They have aquatic species from all around the world located in 9 different zones and a fantastic outdoor Sea Lion Cove. Throughout August they are having Pirate Month, which will definitely make for a swashbuckling day out for everyone!
The historic and grand Conwy Castle is one of the best examples of a medieval castle in Britain! To miss out on this would be to miss out on a fascinating piece of Welsh heritage. The grandeur of its huge towers and great hall are sure to intrigue all the family! This iconic piece of history is only 30minutes from Presthaven Sands and will leave you talking about it for weeks! Especially as children under 16 only cost around £5!
