Guess who’s back…back again? The summer holidays are in full swing and everyone’s favourite Funstar, Nathan, has still managed to find the time to keep everyone up to date on what is happening on Haven Parks!
It’s August already!!! Where is the time going? We’ve got just three weeks left of peak season before the madness calms down for a bit…. Well that’s until Halloween comes, but before that, we’ve got three weeks of great entertainment still going on including wrestling, panto and Seaside Cirque!
But whilst all that fun is happening, us Funstars still have so much going on for everyone which keeps us busy! Now being a Funstar gives you be chance to learn and do so many different activities and gain confidence too! It’s my third season now as a Funstar and I’ve grown more confident in my presenting (well, you can’t keep me off the microphone now)
Over the seasons I’ve learnt from my managers and also our presenters in good tips to use to become a good presenter and how to entertain. I’ve gained a lot this year and now even get my own night to present while the presenter is off 🙂
It is scary having to present, and when I talk to people that want to be Funstars, they say they couldn’t talk on a microphone, but it’s all about gaining confidence and growing as a person too. I still get nervous but each time I do it, you get used to having to hold the room and entertain them. I started out just presenting something as little as an arts and crafts session back in m first season and then have gone on to present Ned’s Non Starty Party, Quizzes, Go Live, Go Tots, Go Win and of course Go Move.
It’s always fun to present various things, like presenting Go Live for the boys and girls is fun and energetic, and then going to to present a Go Win and engage the adults into the GameShow.
I remember my first time speaking on a mic. It was my first night at work and it was just a simple announcement to open cash bingo sales and I did it with my manager telling me line for line what to say down the mic. Hey we’ve all got to start somewhere!! It’s such a great experience though and being able to make a whole room laugh and join in because of you is a great feeling!
