On a day dedicated to all things love, we wanted to use this Valentine’s Day to share a special story of one of our very own guests who met the love of her life many years ago at a Haven park.
Introducing the romantic story of Zoe and Michael Wood…
When Zoe arrived at Doniford Bay in July 1995 on her annual family holiday, the last thing she expected – at 15 years old – was to meet her future husband and the father of her children.
Having joined the kids club on park, Zoe and Michael instantly struck up a bond, but as a shy teenager, Zoe expected nothing more than a little holiday romance. Finally agreeing to go on a date on park, love quickly blossomed and by the end of the week, the pair were smitten.
Agreeing to continue their relationship once the holiday was over, Zoe and Michael spent their days writing to one another and looking forward to their nightly 8pm call, dialled from a phone box. Within two years, the pair celebrated the birth of their first daughter, with Zoe moving to Wigan to bring their family together under one roof.
Five years later, engaged to be married and now with two beautiful daughters, Zoe and Michael returned to Haven in 2000, this time visiting Caister-on-Sea. One of their favourite holiday destinations, the couple decided Great Yarmouth was the perfect setting for their wedding, getting married in the nearby town and celebrating the union back on park.
Blissfully married, Zoe and Michael continued to add to their brood, taking regular family breaks to Haven throughout the years. Now with five children, the couple has visited nine parks in total, adding to their collection of special Haven moments, with the best still yet to come…
This year, Zoe and Michael will be celebrating 25 years together and 20 years of marriage, and much to the delight of the Haven team will be renewing their wedding vows at our Craig Tara holiday park at the end of May surrounded by friends and family. We can’t wait to celebrate with them!
