Things to be seen in 2017

There are so many amazing wonders to be seen right on your doorstep here in the UK. With so many things to choose from, we’ve made it easy for you by creating a bucket list of the top 16 things you should see this year.

1. Durdle Door

Visit the world’s largest door this year and take a trip to Dorset to see Durdle Door. Durdle Door, near Lulworth Cove is a world renowned geological wonder. It truly is a breath-taking site and the sloping beach is perfect for snorkelling and bathing.

2. Healy’s Cyder Farm

Tour around the largest cider-maker and orchard in Cornwall on a tractor and trailer and take in the beautiful gardens. See the art of cider making first hand at the award-winning farm, check out the tasty preserves bubbling away in the jam kitchen, find barrel-loads of England’s oldest whiskey and be sure to to pay a visit to the cute farm animals! It really will be a jam packed day!

3. Walking with Llamas 

Share the gorgeous view across the Devonshire coast and fields with a furry friend this year! Walking with Llamas is a completely unique experience and the views are absolutely breath-taking!

4. Royal Pavilion 

Marvel at the magnificent palace that is the Royal Pavilion in Brighton. This exotic palace has a colourful history and was built as a seaside pleasure palace for King Henry IV to enjoy.

5. Canterbury Cathedral

Pay a visit to one of the oldest and most famous cathedrals in Britain this year. Pilgrims and visitors have been making their way to Canterbury Cathedral since the middle ages, and it still remains one of the most visited places in the country!

6. Manorbier Castle

Visit an ancient castle which boasts a stunning view across an unspoilt beach. Bring history to life for the family with life size figures and prisoners in the dungeon! Make sure you take advantage of this unique location and take a moment to take in the view.

7. Snowdonia 

See Snowdonia from a different viewpoint and have a go on the zip wires at zip world! Enjoy panoramic views across Snowdonia and the local coastline from 500ft in the air! This one is definitely for you dare devils out there!

8. Lincoln Castle & Cathedral/ historic city 

Pay a visit to the historic city of Lincoln this year, wander up the cobbled streets lined with quaint old fashioned shops and tea rooms, but make sure you make it to the top of the steep hill though as here you will find the marvellous Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle!

9. Blackpool Tower 

See the lights of Blackpool Tower illuminate the sky when you visit at nighttime! Climb the tower during the day to enjoy stunning views across the Blackpool coastline. Blackpool Tower is definitely a must-see during the day and night!

10. Lake Windermere

Sail along the largest natural lake in England at the Lake District National Park. Try your hand at some extreme water sports or opt for a gentle cruise and enjoy the view!

11.  Exmoor National Park 

Make friends with the famous Exmouth ponies in Exmoor National Park. Take in the fresh air, enjoy the views and look out for different wildlife you might see roaming the park!

13. Flamborough Coast

Flamborough Coast is a unique beauty surrounded by rugged white cliffs, and an outdoor lover’s paradise. Take part in some water sport activities that take you out to the smugglers caves for a truly unique experience!

14. Farne Islands

Take a boat trip to the Farne Islands off the coast of Northumberland to see a whole host of wildlife! Look out for seals, puffins and over 100,000 seabirds!

15. Scottish Sea Bird Centre

Take a trip to Bass Rock and gaze at the sea birds at the Scottish Seabird Centre. Enjoy a peaceful boat trip then enjoy an interactive adventure in the Discovery Centre!

16. Norfolk Broads
