    Reptile and Amphibian Weekend

    27th – 28th August 2016

    Get up-close and personal with a number of special guests at the Cumberland House Natural History Museum this bank holiday. The museum will be full of amazing animals alongside members of Portsmouth’s Reptile and Amphibian society who will be there to discuss and educate visitors about these crazy critters!

    The Brighton & Hove Food & Drink Festival

    27th – 29th August 2016
    (Nearest Park: Combe Haven)

    Both local and guest producers will be making an appearance at this years food market, bringing you food from all over the world to tease those taste buds; however, if that is not enough to entice you over to Brighton this bank holiday then they also have a number of events that are sure to be fun for all the family, with a Children’s Food Festival and Beer and Wine Festival.

    Beach Tag Rugby at Lusty Glaze

    26th – 28th August 2016
    (Nearest Park: Perran Sands)

    This big annual sporting bonanza is fun for everyone involved. Although £50 entry fee if you wish to participate in the tournament, for spectators the event is absolutely free with live music to follow after both Friday and Sunday’s events. The event is a must-do this summer and is a great way to get out and take advantage of our great British beaches.

    This monthly music event is not one to miss, it is the penultimate Parklive event in 2016 and is a great way to appreciate the vast amount of talent in the the Falmouth area. The event will also include activities for younger visitors including: an Acoustic Music and Storytelling Tent, Circus Skills, Theatrical Performances and Art Workshops.


    Portsmouth Golf Course’s Family Fun Day

    Not just for the golfing fanatics, this family fun day promises an All-day smokin’ BBQ, a Music DJ and a bouncy castle alongside other fantastic events. For those that do enjoy golf you are encouraged to make a day of it and book a tee time. This is a great way to end the summer with fun for all the family.


    Cockington Court Food and Craft Market

    (Nearest Park: Devon Cliffs)

    A combination of locally sourced food and stunning, handmade crafts will surely draw you to Devon this bank holiday. Have your little ones inspired as they watch craftsmen at work in the beautiful surroundings of Cockington Court, whilst trying Devon’s finest scones (cream then jam obviously)! This is the fifth out of the six festivals that is running so be sure not to miss it!

    This welsh festival would give even Rio a run for its money! The parade begins at Harbour Quay with a variety of floats and stalls to entertain you throughout the day. The festival colours this year are turquoise and red so dress to impress.

    Falmouth Games On The Moor

    A range of activities for your kids to do including sumo-suits and giant garden games, but not to worry there is also a market for the adults making this a perfect compromise for a family day out.

    Whitby Folk Week Music & Craft Fair

    (Nearest Park: Blue Dolphin)

    Packed full of family friendly events this unique fair is a great way to try something new! There will be demonstrations and a range of amazing handcrafted items on sale for you to buy and lots more. This is the final event in Whitby’s Folk week and the only one that is free, so take a trip to North Yorkshire to experience one of the country’s most favourite folk festivals.

    This 45 minute interactive story telling session is sure enough to entertain your kids as Vickie Holden brings books and characters to life with combination of music and poetry. Ensuring laughs and fun for all the family this is a great way to get your kids excited about reading, ready for school in September.

    Bournemouth Friday Fireworks Display

    26th August 2016

    This 10 pm fireworks display on Bournemouth Pier is the last of its kind this year. Be amazed as you watch the sky light up over Bournemouth’s beautiful coast-line, a perfect way to end the summer
