Northumberland, home to Haven’s gorgeous Haggerston Castle and Berwick parks, has been named the Best UK Holiday County or Region at the British Travel Awards.
And the Silver award in that category went to Cornwall, where both Riviere Sands and Perran Sands are situated.
The beautiful seaside town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is a must-visit whenever you’re in Northumberland with its stunning coastal walks, spectacular views and intriguing history.
Haven parks are also just around the corner from all three of the seaside towns to win at the awards ceremony on Wednesday evening (28/11).
Bude, which is a just over an hour away from our beautiful Perran Sands park, won Gold in the category and is definitely worth a stop off on your trip to the stunning Cornish coast.
The gorgeous town has the perfect balance between the charm of a small seaside resort and the shops, restaurants and activities to keep you entertained – and of course there’s the stunning beach views and walks along the South West Coastal Path.
In second place at the British Travel Awards was Bournemouth and as its beach was voted the best in the UK by TripAdivsor (and 14th best in the world) a quick trip from Rockley Park, Poole, should be on any holiday checklist.
Riviere Sands, Hayle, is just a 20 minutes drive along from the Bronze winner St Ives, which is home to one of the most stunning harbours in the country and is also a perfect spot for surfers to take to the waves!
Cornwall was proving to be a hit as The Lost Gardens of Heligan picked up Gold for Best UK Leisure/Heritage Attraction – both Haven parks are less than an hour from the mysterious gardens.
The Eden Project, also in Cornwall and a short trip from Perran Sands, was the Bronze award winner in the same category.
Edinburgh Castle, near Seton Sands, received Silver.
