There’s nothing like a warming food festival in winter – lots of stalls lit with a warm glow, and many different smells in the air calling on you to try some new flavours. Especially as some tasty treats can give you the energy to carry on with all that Christmas shopping you have to do!

A two month festival featuring a HUGE range of different activities each week, Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival features choirs, orchestras, outdoor art, a children’s trail and the Get Your Knit On! project to help knit blankets for the vulnerable elderly in London. The Christmas Market is housed in mini wooden chalets along the Thames, and if you’re looking for somewhere to eat there’s a range of places to choose from, including the Christmas Tree café and Rekorderlig Cider Lounge.

This brilliant event has been running for the last 20 years and is on from now until the 4th January! Immerse yourself in a whole array of gourmet European foods coming from all around the continent. Even better is that all this is located in the picturesque East Princes Street Gardens Terrace which creates an even more Christmassy feel. You don’t just have to go there to eat, there will be artists, stalls selling Christmas presents and much more. An extra brussel sprout on your Christmas plate is that entry is free!

Cheshire Food Festival

Arley Hall, Northwich

13th December 2014 – 14th December 2014

This December 13th – 14th come to Arley Hall in Northwich for a truly festive treat! There will be all manner of food festive frolics taking place from Men vs Food challenges to Junior cookery classes and craft stalls to free chef cooking shows.  If the food isn’t enough you can also enjoy a choir and a lovely stroll through the beautiful grounds. Come and get some great ideas so that you can cook up a blizzard in the kitchen this Christmas Day.

Abergavenny Christmas Food Festival

The Market Hall, Upper Brewery Yard and Priory Centre, Abergavenny

12th December 2014

You’ll be able to get everything for a Christmas feast and more at the Abergavenny Christmas Food Festival. There’s seasonal produce from over eighty stalls so you can pick up a special cranberry sauce or selection of cheeses, plus chef demonstrations on everything from turkeys to mince pies, book signings, and a ‘Secret Treats’ workshop for children and adults. And there’s a musical feast of celebrations too, with a choir and procession, plus a fire-eating jester on stilts!
